April 23 the Big Hall of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (c. Kyiv) hosted a workshop of the Project Danube-INCO-NET, dedicated to working towards “Innovation Union and European Research Area in the Danube region.” This meeting is the second in a series of three seminars on the topic of participation in European research and innovation (R & I) programs of the three countries that are not EU members (Serbia, Ukraine and Moldova), each seminar dedicated to a specific list of questions in innovative development that are most relevant to specific country.
The second main theme of the meeting was the participation of small and medium-sized enterprises in European R & I programs, including access to these programs for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Subjects also highlights efforts to use Horizon-2020 and other EU programs to improve R & I capacity and cooperation in the Danube region.
The organizers of the meeting were: Center for Social Innovation (Vienna), Germanic Aerospace Center of Ukraine – Institute of market problems and economic and environmental research of Ukraine. The participants were representatives of the Ministry of Science, Research and Economy of Austria, Federal Ministry of Education and Research of Germany, the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of Ukraine, National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, stakeholders representing SMEs, research organization eight European countries.
